Mt. Kenya
Africa's second-highest peak. Point Lenana at 4985m is the trekking summit — four days up and down through alpine meadows, glacial lakes, and ice fields.
After Ethiopia, Kenya felt almost easy — paved roads, English everywhere, and a clear plan: Nairobi for a few days, then north to Mt. Kenya for a four-day climb to Point Lenana, the trekking peak.
The mountain was the highlight. Old Moses Camp at 3500 metres on day one, Shipton at 4200 the next, then the pre-dawn push to 4985. Africa's second-highest summit, and a clear view of Kilimanjaro from the top.

A practical city for travellers. The Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Centre, decent food. Watch your stuff.
An old Swahili island town off the north coast. Donkeys instead of cars, narrow streets, and 14th-century architecture.
The big coastal city. Old Town worth a wander, beaches outside town are better than the city itself.
